VM - 121 Logan V Kiss
“Hey, party girl,” echoed a voice as she walked out of her last class of the day. She turned to look at Wallace, rushing towards her, with a smile on his face. She smiled at him and gave him a hug. She had missed him. With everything going on becoming Lilly’s friend, and the activities that it entailed she knew that she was distancing herself from Wallace.

“It’s so good to see you,” she whispered into his shirt.

“You act like we never see each other,” he laughed.

“We don’t. I’ve been becoming friends with Lilly and it seems like you always disappear on me,” she said pouting.

Wallace smiled at her pout; he had never been able to resist the pout. “Well, basketball season is starting which means that I have to get ready to play. The team and I are going over strategy and our practice schedule later. You wouldn’t think it was fun. Hell, I don’t think its fun, but it’s a part of the game.”

Veronica looked at him closely. “So you don’t mind that Lilly and I are becoming friends or that I have been sitting with her at lunch?”

“No, I don’t. I’m glad you are making more friends, and as long as you don’t forget me then everything will be fine. Just remember what I told you last time: be careful. Lilly could get you into some things that you may not want to get into.”

Veronica nodded her head. Hell, they hadn’t been friends a month and Lilly had already gotten her into something—something that could possibly be dangerous.

“So, how goes the basketball team?” Veronica asked, wrapping an arm around Wallace’s waist.

Wallace’s voice soothed her and comforted her. It always had. He went on to tell her about his new teammates, the practices that they were going to have and the training sessions that he already knew would tire his body out before the season began. He told her that there was a chance that they would have a good team, but that a lot of hard work was going to be needed and that was why they were going to start early.

“Well, now that we have caught up with every thing to do with me, its time to find out what’s been going on with you.”

Veronica looked away. She wanted to tell him what was going on, but she wasn’t sure how he would take that information, or what she was about to do. Finally deciding on what to tell him, she began telling him how the party was and how she got to dance with Logan.

His eyes shot up at that information. “You got to dance with the one boy you have been crushing on since you got here?” he asked, incredulously.

Veronica nodded, smiling. She knew that that would be one of her best memories. “It was awesome, Wallace. It felt so right.”

“You’ve really fallen for him, haven’t you? I know that you had a little crush on him, but come on, you’ve really tripped yourself head over heels for him.”

“It’s different, Wallace. The way I feel about him is so different than what I’ve felt before with other guys. Logan and I are barely getting to know each other, but it’s like… I know this is going to sound sappy, but I feel like I’ve know him for a long time.”

“And does he feel the same way?”

“I don’t know. Lilly seems to thinks so. She said that if he and I were to get together she wouldn’t mind, which I find really shocking, but you never know how people will react.”

“Lilly Kane said it was okay for you to date her little boy-toy?” Wallace asked. Veronica nodded her head at his question. “Wow. I never thought I would see the day.”

“She says that she is sick of the back and forth they go through and that she doesn’t love him like she used to. She loves him, but she is not in love with him.”

Wallace frowned, but nodded his head. He knew there was something off about this statement. Lilly Kane had Logan Echolls wrapped around her golden finger and Wallace knew that Lilly would never truly let Logan go. It wasn’t her way. She wanted everyone to be hers and she would do anything to keep those she held around her.

Wallace knew something wasn’t right, but he also knew that he couldn’t tell Veronica about his suspicions. It would hurt her and the last thing he wanted to do was hurt her when he wasn’t even sure anything was wrong. She had had too many people hurting her and he wasn’t going to be one of them.

But he knew one thing. He was going to have to watch Lilly Kane; because there was no way that he was going to allow her to hurt his best friend.

His frantic hands pulled against the materials that covered her skin, keeping him away, while his mouth connected with its mate. “God, I need you,” he whispered against the soft skin or her cheek, inhaling her intoxicating smell.

He quickly pulled up her shirt and his eyes feasted on her tiny body, making her blush crimson as he threw her shirt behind him, not wanting to take his eyes off her. His fingers lightly pulled her face up so he could look down into her eyes. “You’re beautiful. The most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen.”

She laughed shakily, “I bet you say that to all the girls,” she whispered flippantly.

Logan shook his head. He had never seen anything more beautiful than her. With her long, blonde, beautiful hair, down to her gorgeous pixie sized body. His hand shakily traced her features before making their way down the slope of her neck. He felt her swallow and he grinned. He loved the reactions that he got out of her.

His hand followed to her shoulders until he felt the straps of her bra. He looked up into her eyes, wanting an answer to his silent question. She nodded and slowly turned her body so that he could reach the back.

He slowly unhooked the snaps and slowly removed one strap – and then the other – and he gave a kiss to each side of her bare shoulders. His arms moved around her waist interlocking on her stomach, as he kissed his way from her shoulders up to the back of her neck.

She moaned as she tilted her head, her hair floating to one side, leaving the other bare. His eyes feasted on the sight of her bare neck and his mouth descended leaving a burning trail of fire on and in her.

She turned her head over her shoulder, silently asking for a kiss, which he gladly gave. Their lips met softly, but soon heated up. His tongue ran the length of her plumped, swollen bottom lip, asking for permission. His tongue soon entered her mouth to tangle with hers in a lazy kiss filled with desire.

His hands rose up to cup her breasts and tease her nipples. Her breath was ragged as she tried to continue kissing him. Finally out of breath she pulled away, moaning in delight, despite the lack of contact. One delicate pull on her nipple, she turned around and straddled him, shoving her tongue deep in the mouth.

His body became rigid in this new position. His arms came to surround her and he held her body tightly to him. Wanting her and he to be one. His hands moved up and down her back as he continued to kiss her, his hands finally setting on her butt, trying to pull her closer to him.

Soon they were grinding into each other and before they knew it, she was laid out in front of him, with him on top of her, looking into each other’s eyes.

She smiled at him as his hands smoothed their way down the skin of her thighs. “God, Logan,” she sighed as he hit a particularly sensitive spot. Logan smiled at her.

Logan soon reached over into the drawer beside his bed. He pulled out a condom, which he quickly opened and put on. “Are you sure about this?” he whispered bending down to place nipping kisses along her neck, finally ending at her mouth. She nodded her head yes, and he slowly slipped his way inside her. He was met by her virginal resistance.

She whimpered in pain, and he quickly stopped. He didn’t want to hurt her, as it was the last thing that he ever wanted to do. But, he knew if they were to continue it would have to be done. “I’ll stop, baby. It’s done. I don’t want to hurt.” He began to pull out of her body when her voice stopped him.

“No, Logan. I don’t want to stop,” she whispered pulling his mouth back to hers.

Logan nodded and once again brought his body into hers. When the pain became unbearable he stopped, waited until she was okay, and went further another inch. He continued until he was at her barrier. His hand stroked over her body, caressing each breast, and calming her shaking thighs. “Are you ready?” he asked, shakily. When she nodded he plunged in, with one quick stroke. She cried out and he covered her mouth with his, soothing her with kisses. “God, Veronica, I love you –” he murmured after ending the kiss.

Logan’s body shot up out of bed breathing raggedly. He looked around his room and found himself alone. He tried to catch his breath, before lying back down and leaving his head on his pillow.

He could swear that his bed smelt of her, a scent of marshmallows and promises.

On the other side of town, Veronica also shot out of bed. She knew this was going to have to stop. She had been dreaming of him regularly and now it had progressed to where she couldn’t take it anymore. She couldn’t continue waking up flushed, wanting him, yet knowing there would be nothing to satisfy her hunger.

She was going to have to step up her timetable.

She needed to get those tapes.

The plan was simple.

Lilly had set it up so that Veronica, Logan, Duncan and herself could all hang out by his pool, to take up the last warmth the weather could provide before heading into winter. Thank god for heated pools because it already was starting to get a bit nippy.

The plan was to have Lilly hold up Duncan and herself so that Veronica could get some one on one time with Logan and then sneak into the pool house to use the bathroom and grab the tapes.

It was actually a lot easier than Veronica could have ever imagined.

Veronica had had her father drop her off after school at the Echolls estate, where a guard led her in with a buzz to the main gate. She smiled her thanks as she made her way up to the doorbell. Logan surprisingly opened the door for her, but refrained from giving her hug as he had been the last few days.

He then showed her around the house, so she could see it and not get lost later. She knew that it wouldn’t have mattered because she already knew the entire way thanks to Lilly drilling the floor plans into her head the week before. So she just smiled at Logan as finally led them out side to the pool.

He sat down at the edge of the pool dangling his feet in the water and she kicked off her flip-flops and joined him. It seemed like he was in a strange mood today. He wasn’t his usual self and he seemed a lot more hesitant with her than usual.

“What’s wrong, Logan?” she began.

Logan shook his head. “Its nothing – I just didn’t get a lot of sleep last night,” he mumbled, looking away from her. And it slightly looked like he was blushing.

Veronica pushed her shoulder into his. “Tell me.”

Logan turned his head to look at her for a minute. “I just had a weird dream last night, and it has made me re-evaluate some things.”

She nodded her head. “I know how those kinds of dreams are. I went through that a lot when my mom died. I used to dream that I would never get over it and I still haven’t, but back then the pain was so unbearable that I thought I would die. My dreams kind of showed me how I wanted to feel to what I was feeling and it gave me a whole different outlook.”

“What happened to your mom?” he asked, cautiously. When he saw her hesitant look he hurriedly replied, “Its okay, you don’t have to answer if you don’t want to.”

Veronica looked up at him, staring in his eyes. “My mom was beautiful. She and I were best friends. She and my dad met in college. She had moved from Neptune to go to Fresno State University, and my dad was at the police academy. According to my dad they fell instantly in love.

“They had me when my dad had just joined the police force. Mom was in her third year of college and she dropped out to have me. She was studying communications; she wanted to be a news anchor. She told me once that she wished she would have gone back to school after she had me, but that it was fulfilling for her to raise me. Whatever that means.” Veronica laughed softly.

Logan smiled at her. “So, what happened?”

Veronica’s smile left her. She hadn’t been totally honest with Jake Kane, but she wanted to be honest with Logan. “Last March, my mom was murdered. I can remember that day so vividly. Sometimes I feel like all this is a dream and then I remember. I was at my championship soccer game and we had just won, when my dad got a call. He usually didn’t go to my day games because of work, but since it was our championship he came. My mom hadn’t feeling well, so she had my dad video it so she could watch it later. The coach was congratulating us, when my dad got a phone call. I don’t know how, or why, my mind zeroed in on him as he picked up his cell, but I knew. I knew something was wrong and that it had to do with my mother.” Veronica grew quiet for a moment.

Logan saw Veronica’s eyes grow misty and he scooted over to her and wrapped his arm around her. His dream flashed in his mind, but he didn’t let the deter him. He wanted to comfort her, no matter how uncomfortable that dream had made him. Just because he didn’t understand his feelings towards her didn’t mean that he wanted her to hurt or to be lonely during her grief.

“I walked over to my dad to ask what was wrong, and he just looked at me. It was like he was seeing through me. When he finally saw me, his eyes misted up and he pulled me to him, and he told me. My mom had been murdered at our house. Someone had broken in while she was asleep, trying to rob us. There was a fight and he killed her. I completely broke down. This was supposed to be one the happiest days of my life. I used to love with soccer with a passion and after I found out about my mom I felt like it was my fault.”

“How so?” he asked softly.

Veronica gave him a hollow laugh. “I believed that if I hadn’t been involved with soccer that I would have been there with her. Or my father would have and she wouldn’t have died.”

“It’s not your fault, Veronica. You couldn’t have known that was going to happen,” he told her with as much empathy as he could muster.

Veronica nodded her head. “I understand that. Now. Back then, though, it didn’t matter to me. I was broken. I sheltered my self away from everyone, and my father did what he could to find my mother’s murderer. He got so wrapped up in it, that he soon was taken off the case because he was too involved and too attached to it. In a way it was good, because he could finally start grieving. But then it became worse. The cops in *the* department started losing evidence and they made up false evidence to try and replace *it*. My dad accused the police of hiding and destroying evidence.”

Logan was enthralled with her story. “So what happened?”

“Let’s just say that the mayor didn’t like the Sheriff accusing the rest of the police force of being corrupt. There was a mandatory recall and my dad was removed. It was really hard after that. My mom had just died, my dad lost his job and I lost myself.”

Logan turned her body so they would face each other. “Why did you guys decide to come to Neptune?”

Veronica smiled once again, trying to push back the bad memories of Fresno. “My mom grew up here. She’d tell a story once in a while and I don’t really remember much about them, but dad thought it would be a fitting tribute to move here. If I couldn’t grow up where he grew up, then it was only right to have this one last piece of my mom.”

“I’m glad your dad decided to come here.”

“So am I. It has actually been really interesting. Still not sure on some things, but I’m still trying to figure my way around.”

Logan laughed and looked at his watch. They had been talking for a while it appeared. A good forty minutes, he noticed, and yet, Lilly and Duncan had not arrived. “I wonder where Lilly is?” he asked, frowning.

Veronica shook her head in the negative at him. She knew where they were, but Logan couldn’t know that. He gave her the opening she needed. “Why don’t you call her and ask where she is. I need to use the restroom.” Veronica stood up to walk away and she turned around quickly. “Hey Logan, is there a bathroom in the pool house?” at his nod she continued, “I’m going to use that instead of going back to the main house.”

He gave a quick okay, before walking to the main house so he could go grab the cell that he had left in the kitchen. He had left it where he had put it down after coming home.

Veronica hurried her way into the pool house looking around quickly. Lilly had given Veronica explicit directions. Get in, get out, and that was exactly what Veronica was going to do.

She didn’t even stop to take a quick look around the room. She went straight to where Lilly had said the bookcase was and she felt around until she could pull the shelves apart. She really hoped that Lilly was keeping Logan distracted.

Veronica pulled open the drawer that was underneath two monitors. “Gross fucker,” she whispered, before looking down the lines of videos. Once locating Lilly’s name on the tapes she quickly opened the cases and took the tapes out, depositing them in her bag and replacing them with blank tapes that she had brought along with her before closing everything.

She gave a quick glance, looking around making sure that nothing was out of place before rushing quickly to a door that she hoped led into the bathroom. It did and she was grateful. She quickly shut the door and locked it. She went over to the toilet flushing it and then turning on the tap.

She heard Logan calling out her name again and she unlocked the door and opened it and then went back to washing her hands.

Logan came to the doorway as she finished washing her hands and told her that Lilly and Duncan had had a family emergency, which meant Celeste was being bitchy and not letting them out, and that they wouldn’t make it.

“So what do you want to do?” she asked cautiously.

Logan’s hand rose up to scratch the hair behind his ear as he bit at the corner of his lip. She found it quite endearing, the way he was nervous around her.

It seemed like forever had passed before he answered, “Do you want to go up to my room and watch a movie?”

Veronica smiled at him and nodded. There was nothing else in the world that she would rather do than hang out with Logan. “On one condition though,” she said seriously. “I get to pick the movie.”

Veronica landed on her bed with a sigh. She had just gotten back from Logan’s and she could say that that boy had enough energy to sustain two five year olds. During both movies they had watched he a run commentary along. He had met this person and that person had dated this person. This person once got him an autograph of that person. This person was in his phone book. And when she had mentioned that she would love to do naughty things to Connor Larkin’s abs, he had went nuts telling her about every horrible thing he could think of that involved Connor Larkin and made him look bad.

They had finally called it a night and he had his father’s personal driver take her home. She would be so glad when she got her license. Only a few more months to wait, she thought.

Veronica sat up and reached for her bag, pulling out the three tapes that had Lilly’s names on them. She made her way over to her air vent and unscrewed the lid as she had seen Logan do earlier that night. She placed the tapes inside and screwed the lid shut.

At least she was done with that. The hard part was over. She was still surprised that nothing had gone wrong and that she hadn’t been caught. She had been afraid all night that Logan or his father would find out and that she would get in trouble, but that hadn’t happened. Logan had kept her entertained and took away some of the nervousness that she had had and she was grateful.

Veronica made her way back to her bed, grabbing her cell phone; scrolling down until she reached the number she needed before hitting the call button. The call went straight to voicemail. After the beep she answered, “It’s done. It’s your show now. When I get what I want, you’ll get what you want. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

On the other side of town a girl bounced roughly on top of the guy she had just gotten back together with. The man’s dark skin was a huge contrast against the women’s porcelain like skin.

The girl turned her head at the beeping of the phone on the nightstand, and she reached over to grab it to listen to the voice mail. She pressed a number sending her to her voice- mailbox, as she continued to ride the man.

She smiled as she heard the voicemail, her body growing tight at the pleasure of the man underneath her, as well with the phone call. She tipped over the edge riding the man roughly, raking her nails down the man’s chest. “Fuck, Weevil,” she whispered harshly.

“God, Lil,” he groaned, following her in pleasure.

She was so excited she had gotten her boy toy back, but she was even more excited that she almost had the tapes in her grasp.

Now it was time for operation: Get Veronica and Logan together.

Bring it on.

There were many ways to get Logan do what she wanted; it was just all in the approach she mused. This was just like any other thing that she had ever wanted from him, which meant he would drop anything and follow her. What was ten times better though, was that he already liked the girl.

Veronica had told Lilly after she had called her back that Veronica had spent the day with Logan after Lilly and Duncan had failed to show, watching movies and laughing, getting to know one another. This would only help out Lilly’s plan in the long run, Lilly noted.

Lilly went over her plan of attack. She would first talk to Logan to gage his response to Veronica. Then, she would tell him that she knew he already liked Veronica and that it was totally okay with her. After that, Lilly was planning on throwing them around each other all the time, and let nature take its course.

It wouldn’t be very hard. She knew he was already head over heels. Logan wasn’t one who could hide his emotions well. If he liked someone, you could tell by the way his eyes followed her every move, and how his body would always be turned toward the girl when he talked to her.

And by the way she had been reading him lately, he had fallen hard and he had no idea what to do about it. It was quite endearing, seeing him flustered and sometimes a little bit shy. It wasn’t everyday that Logan Echolls became shy around a girl.

Lilly pulled out her cell phone and dialed Logan’s number. She wanted a play by play of the night he and Veronica had spent together. She had already heard some of the details from Veronica, but she wanted to know what Logan thought about it. It would be the easiest way to ask him how he was feeling and what he thought about Veronica.

After talking nonsense for the first few minutes she brought up the night in question. He went on to tell her that nothing had happened and that they had watched movies. “Oh really,” she said, as she smiled, realizing that Logan couldn’t see her reaction.

“Yeah, that’s all that happened,” he said with a bit of agitation in his voice.

“So was it weird hanging out with her, or was it fun? How did you feel just hanging out, the two of you, alone?” She punctuated each action for effect and to see how much he would respond.

Logan hesitated over the phone and Lilly’s smile grew bigger. “It was fun. She’s a cool girl. It was… it was cool.”

“Just cool? So it wasn’t weird? ‘Cause Veronica said, that it seemed like you were a little weird around her.”

Logan became quiet for a second. He paused on whether or not to let Lilly know about his dream. “It was just awkward for the first hour or so. I mean, you and DK completely ditched us and she and I had never hung out by ourselves before.”

Lilly snorted and then tried to contain the giggles that wanted to escape her. Oh Logan had it so bad for Veronica. It was too funny. “So, by the end of the night, was it less awkward?”

“I had fun. It was fun; it just took a little time for us to get over that awkward stage of just being around someone you’ve never hung out with before. I mean, yes, we have hung out, but only in a group setting.”

“Was it awkward because of the dance you guys had at my dad’s party? Was that why?” she asked, softly.

Logan was quiet.

“Logan, come on, are you still there?”

“Yeah, Lil, I’m still here. I just don’t know how to answer your question,” he started to rub at his hair in confusion at the situation.

“Just answer it, silly. It’s an easy question, Logan. Did you or did you not feel something when you danced with her that made you awkward with her alone in your house?”

Lilly listened as Logan took a deep breath, and finally whispered, “Yes.” Lilly stood up from where she was stationed on her bed and gave a little jump of excitement. This was going to be too easy.

“What do you feel for her, exactly, Logan?” she tried to keep the glee out of her voice at the last words Logan had spoken.

Logan made a frustrated noise. “I don’t know, Lilly. God, its not like I can just… I can’t talk to you about this, Lilly. She’s your friend and she’s my friend and it’s not like I can just tell you how I feel about another girl.”

“Sure, you can. I don’t care if you like her, Logan. Hell, more power to ya. You and I aren’t together anymore, so it doesn’t matter what I think. Do you like her? ‘Cause, I have it on high authority that she may or may not like you…” Lilly drug out, wanting to see if he would rise to the bait and answer her question. Also, it was kind of cute that Logan thought that he couldn’t talk to her about other girls. She didn’t have any problem about telling to him about her sex life. Well, besides his dad, she didn’t care, and Weevil, but that was completely different.

“I don’t know, Lilly. Is that what you want me to say? I like her and I think I could grow to like her, like her, but why would she like me?”

“If I tell you something, you promise not to repeat it to Veronica?”

“Yeah, what is it?”

“Veronica has liked you from the time she walked into school. I found out from her that she has had a major crush on you. She thinks she’s not good enough for you.”

“She does?”

God he was a dumb ass. “Yes, you ass, she likes you and not just because of your parents. So tell me if you like her or not because if you do, then I can hook you guys up and then I don’t have to watch the both of you two mooning over each other. Its actually quite sickening and it would be better for all if you would just hook up with her and get it over with.”

The line was quiet after Lilly’s tirade. She imagined him stewing in her words, trying to process the situation.

“Come on, Logan. Just tell me. Do you want to be with her or do you want to be just friends?”

“Veronica, come sit down and relax. You’re making me dizzy,” exclaimed Lilly, wanting Veronica to hurry and sit. Veronica had been wanting to know if Lilly and Logan had talked and all Lilly would say was that they had, that it was a good thing, and that he was coming over later with a few friends and they were going to throw a mini- party.

Veronica had questioned why a mini-party, since Luke was going to throw a party in a few days, and Lilly had answered that it was regular for the 09ers to throw multiple kickbacks or parties during the week, even though one of them had a huge party the next day or coming weekend.

“I’m nervous, Lilly. You won’t tell me anything,” Veronica nervously replied, pacing back and forth in Lilly’s room. It was the only room in the house that felt comfortable.

“There’s nothing to tell. I talked to him and I got what I wanted out of it,” was all Lilly replied as she looked at Veronica innocently.

“But what does that mean, Lilly? Does that mean that he likes me, or does that mean that he doesn’t? Does that mean the he only wants to hook up and not be serious?” Veronica’s pacing began to grow faster as the tiny blonde ran through all of the possibilities in her head.

Lilly shook her head. Veronica was so totally mental over him. Lilly was grateful that she would never be like that. She knew she had made some boys like that in the past, but she wanted to get on her knees and thank God that she had never done anything like that before.

Finally unable to watch Veronica pace anymore, Lilly stood up and grabbed her, stopping her from doing anymore pacing. Lilly lightly dragged Veronica back by the arms to sit on the bed next to her.

Veronica looked at Lilly and then looked away. Veronica knew she was acting nuts, but she wanted desperately to know what had happened. She knew that Lilly was playing with her and she knew that somehow it was probably good or Lilly would have never orchestrated the evening.

“Chill out, Veronica! Everything is going to be okay. I talked to him and he likes you. That’s all I need to know.” Lilly watched as Veronica let the breath she was holding out. It killed Lilly to tell her, but it was the only way to get Veronica to stop pacing and shut up.

“He actually told you that he likes me?” Veronica asked meekly.

Lilly nodded her head. “I talked to him last night, and it took him a while to admit it, but he told me that he liked you, and that the reason he was weird around you the other night was because he didn’t know to come at you, especially since you are my friend. Hence, the little soiree that we are having tonight.” Lilly started to wave her arms around as she motioned toward the living room where the party would take place later.

“And what exactly do you have planned tonight?” Veronica worriedly questioned.

Lilly smirked and leaned down, her long blonde hair flowing like diamonds over one shoulder. “One way or another, I am getting you and Logan to hook up.” Veronica’s eyes widened at the statement.

“Hook up in what way, Lilly?”

Lilly smiled at her. Not the little grin she got when she was devious, but a full out smile that she got when she had the best plan in the world. “At least kiss, but if more happens, then you go girl.”

“Lilly, you’re not like, gonna lock us in a closet, right?”

“Now, that is an idea –”

“– No.” Veronica interrupted. “That’s not necessary. That makes me look desperate. I don’t want him to think that I’m desperate.”

“Babe, you are desperate. You want him and he wants you, there is nothing wrong with that. It’s natural. I’m okay with it, then you both should be as well and if locking you both in a closet gets you two to finally hook up then it’s all good.”

“Lilly –.”Veronica began, but was cut off when Lilly covered her mouth with her hand.

“Shush. Not another word. We have a deal, Veronica. I get you and Logan together, and I get my tapes. You and Logan get to live happily ever after, and I don’t get my face plastered all over the news. It’s a win, win situation. So, stop worrying and just go with the flow.”

Veronica nodded in acceptance, and Lilly removed her hand from Veronica’s mouth.

“Good. Now, let’s go down stairs and wait for everyone.”

“Who’s even coming, Lilly?” Veronica asked warily. It was common knowledge that most of the 09ers were cruel to anyone other than the rest of their social network. Many of the girls were snobs that didn’t care who or what you were and they only way they were nice to you was if you lived in the 09er zip.

Lilly turned to Veronica. “Just a few regulars. Duncan won’t be there because dad took him some where so, that at least is great. Logan, of course, will be here because, duh, the whole point of tonight is for the two of you to hang out. I know for sure that Dick, Madison, Meg, Cole, Shelley and Luke are coming. It’s not that many. Like I said, it’s a small gathering before Luke’s party this weekend.”

Veronica stood up nodding her head. She could deal with them, well, she really didn’t want to deal with Madison and Shelley, but she would for the sake of time with Logan. As much as she was terrified to be around Logan, she couldn’t help but feel excited to see where the evening would take them.

She liked him, and what was even more insane was that he liked her. He liked her. She didn’t think that this would have been even possible when she first ran into him in the hallway. It saddened her to know that the only reason this was happening was because of a sex tape between him and Lilly, but she would take what she could get. And she was getting a whole hell of a lot, she realized as she looked at Lilly wander around the room before leaving it.

She followed Lilly down the stairs into the living room. Celeste had disappeared to one of her charity functions or whatever the hell she usually did, while Jake was away with Duncan, leaving the house all to Lilly and the selected guests.

They hadn’t even made it into the living room before the doorbell rang. Lilly sent Veronica on her way to the living room, and answered the door ushering everyone in. She gave Logan a little smile as he walked in last. He looked nervous. She quickly reached out to him before he could go any farther into the house and whispered, “Every thing will be fine. Just relax. No one knows about your feelings but you, me and her.”

Logan nodded and proceeded into the living room. Lilly shut the door and smirked. She loved being a puppet master.

“Madison, truth or dare,” asked Luke, smirking at her.

It hadn’t taken them a long time to break into the Kane family liquor cabinet and start pouring drinks all around. When they had all become effectively buzzed, Lilly had declared it time to play a game.

They had all gathered around in a circle, Veronica and Lilly next to each other and when Logan went to sit by Veronica, though Madison butted her way in. Luke took the seat next to Lilly as Meg, Cole, and Dick rounded out the circle.

After several rounds of I’ve never, in which everyone found out that, Veronica, Meg and Cole were still virgins, that Madison had a nose job, and many more things, Lilly had termed the game boring. This, had then led to a game of truth or dare, even though Madison had declared it a “Child’s game”.

“Truth,” Madison said, her smile a little wobbly around the edges.

Luke glanced at everyone to make sure they had their attention. “Would you ever screw Sheriff Lamb?”

Madison made a disgusting face. “Oh, gross. I would never. That man is old. He’s like thirty, I would never.”

Lilly snorted. Yeah, right. Lilly knew that Madison thought she was slick, but Lilly was slicker. Carrie Bishop had told Lilly that she had caught Madison telling Pam that if she got the chance to nail him, that she totally would, because she thought he would be good in the sack.

At Lilly’s snort, Madison turned her head and glared. “Lilly, truth or dare?”

“I dare you to kiss someone in this room,” she replied, with a smirk. She knew that she would go after one of the guys and that Logan would definitely freak out. Even though Logan and Lilly weren’t together didn’t matter. Every time before it had pissed him off.

“Fine,” whispered Lilly, glancing around everyone that sat in the circle. She contemplated going straight after Logan, but he was watching Veronica, who was watching him back, smiling. She couldn’t do that, because then she wouldn’t get her tapes.

She could go after Luke. He was always fun, but been there, done that. She glanced back and forth at Cole and Dick. Both had girlfriends and both girls were there.

Well, there was only one choice. She went after Dick. Hell if Madison thought she could get away with something slick like that, then she should have known not to play with fire. Especially a fire named Lilly Kane.

Lilly laid a kiss on Dick, that was all spit, and tongue, and no finesse about it. She pulled away, when Luke began cheering at her.

Lilly took a look around the group and smiled at Madison’s hateful stare, Veronica’s wide-eyed expression, Logan’s grin, and the shocked looks of Cole, Meg and most importantly, Dick.

Lilly gave a little laugh and turned to Veronica. “Truth or dare.” Lilly desperately wanted Veronica to choose dare. She knew that Veronica was the type of girl to choose truth, but if every thing was to work out just like it was supposed to, than she needed to choose dare.

Veronica took a gulp of her drink, the alcohol burned down her throat. It seemed as if Lilly had all but poured the whole bottle of vodka into her drink. “Dare,” she whispered, at last.

Lilly clapped her hands and offered a, “Yay.”

Veronica smiled nervously, glancing at Logan, at the corner of her eye.

“I dare you to...,” Lilly looked over at Logan, and smiled. “I dare you to kiss Logan.”

Veronica’s head snapped to face Lilly, and her mouth dropped slightly. Veronica quickly glanced at Logan, and saw that his face mirrored hers. Nervous, shocked, scared – and excited. The excitement was also showing.

Looking back at Lilly, Veronica nodded. She leaned forward to come closer to Logan. She lightly placed her lips against his, giving him a chaste, closed mouth peck. As she was about to pull away, Logan brought his hands up to cup her face and pulled her back into him. He clutched her to him, lightly running his hands up and down her cheeks in a sensual caress, the same movement that he was silently begging with his tongue.

Veronica gasped at the feeling of his tongue running on the bottom of her lip. Logan took advantage of her gasp and curled his tongue around hers. Veronica had been passive when he had brought her mouth back to his, but she wasn’t passive any longer. She brought her own arms up to encircle his neck, pulling him closer, as if he could be pulled inside of her.

A loud ring was what interrupted the two of them. Veronica pulled away, when she felt something vibrate in the back pocket of her jeans. Breathless, she pulled the phone out of her pocket, glancing at the called id.

“It’s my dad,” she whispered, standing up. “I have to take this,” she said, blushing, walking away from the group.

Logan watched her leave the room before he grumpily let out, “Fucking phone.”

Veronica walked into the kitchen answering her phone, with a quick, breathless, “Hello, daddy.”

“Hey sweetie. What time do you think you’ll be coming home?”

“Not sure, but I’ll get a ride from Lilly, or someone else. Don’t worry about it.”

“Veronica, I want you home soon. I never get to spend any time with you anymore. It seems like you are always at Lilly’s.”

“I’m sorry, dad. It’s just nice to have a girlfriend to hang with. Like I’ve told you before, I love Wallace, and he’s great. But, sometimes, I just need a girl to talk to, and the more time I spend with Lilly, the more… I don’t know.”

“I get it, sweetie, I do. Just be home before midnight. ‘Kay?”

“Okay. I love you dad.”

“I’ve love you, too. Bye honey.”

“Bye,” she whispered, clicking off the phone. Veronica deposited the phone in her back pocket, before walking out of the kitchen and into the living room where the others were.

Veronica was greeted with a smile from Logan, and he patted the empty seat – that had somehow opened – next him, where she sat down. She brought her knees up to her chin curling her arms around her legs.

She glanced at Logan, who leaned back and stretched, letting his arm go lightly around her back. His hand slowly inched his way up to her back, caressing and drawing meaningless patterns, giving her chills. Veronica wiggled, a bit uncomfortable, but Logan just smiled at her, and continued on.

The rest of the night was spent playing many games, and drinking more than they should have. Logan spent most of the night next to Veronica, touching her in different ways: a brush here, a light tickle there that made her blush and made her insides warm.

By the time everyone was going home, Logan had worked Veronica up into a frenzy. When Logan’s ride finally arrived, Veronica walked him out. As they reached the car, Logan turned to face her.

“So…,” he said, smiling lightly at her. He seemed as nervous as she did.

They hadn’t brought up the kiss at all after it had happened. She didn’t know if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

“You’re going to Luke’s party, right?” he asked.

She nodded.

“Then I’ll see you there?”

“You will, and you might even see me at school for the next three days, before the party,” she laughed at him.

His smiled widened and he laughed with her. “Right. So, I’ll see you tomorrow.” Logan looked in her eyes and leaned forward pressing a tiny kiss at the corner of her lips. “Goodnight, Veronica.”

“Night,” she whispered, eyes barely beginning to open, watching as he got into the car. She watched as the car disappeared out of the Kane estate. She never heard Lilly come up behind her.

“Ready to leave, yet?” she asked.

Veronica nodded.

They made their way to Lilly’s jeep. Buckling in as Lilly started the car. Veronica looked over to her and asked, “Are you sure you’re okay to drive? I mean, you did have a little bit to drink.”

“I’m fine. I sobered up like an hour ago.”

Veronica smiled and turned her head out of the window, not paying attention to the world around her. Her mind locked onto the kiss she had shared earlier with Logan, as well as the little touches that he had given her the rest of the night.

She walked up into her apartment in a daze, humming slightly. She gave her dad a kiss goodnight murmuring, “Night, daddy,” before making her way to her room to lie on her bed.

Dreams of Logan awaited her as she closed her eyes.
